About Beverley Racecourse:
Beverley Racecourse is set in the historic and beautiful Beverley Westwood. Located 10 miles from Hull and around 1 mile from the town centre, Beverley Racecourse is within easy walking distance of the historic market town centre. Here you’ll find winding cobbled streets and stunning, iconic architecture, as well as a range of boutiques, shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.
Beverley Racecourse has been part of the historic market town of Beverley for over 300 years. In 1752, the Jockey Club was founded and the first Grandstand was built in 1767. In the last five decades, Beverley has extended and modernised the course to offer racegoers top quality racing and excellent facilities, as a not-for-profit organisation they continue to improve facilities and events at the course every year.
Proud to be the Racecourse’s exclusive caterer for 24 years now, there are plenty of gastronom delights you can experience on a raceday at Beverley, including:
- The fabulous Terrace & 1690 bars, featuring the Laurent-Perrier Champagne bar, the Spread a Plate tapas boards, and a range of wine, spirits, beer, lager and Champagne.
- The 2016 re-furbished Attraction Restaurant for a la carte dining and afternoon tea, as well as the occasional Michelin recommended 7 course tasting menu
- Xing Cocktail Bar for freshly mixed cocktails and juices (don’t miss the best Strawberry Daquiri in Yorkshire!)
- The Paddock Bar for seafood and cold meat platters
- Cleverly’s Bar & Bistro – a modern, stylish space serving bistro style dishes with no need for a reservation
- Minster Bar & Lavender Lawn serving hot and cold drinks and snacks in a relaxed lawn setting
- Pimm’s and Prosecco marquees
- A range of mobile catering units, from Yorkshire Hot Dogs to Kerbedge street food
Plus much, much more!
Not forgetting the hottest raceday hospitality ticket in town… Ladies Day in The Attraction Restaurant. Tickets go on sale for this in November and usually sell out within one day! However, ladies you needn’t despair, because for all of the guests who didn’t get a table in the restaurant you can still bag yourself a ticket for the Ladies’ Day Pavilion, a marquee in the course enclosure, within the heart of the action. Tickets are priced at £120 (inc VAT per person) and include:
- A hospitality badge, allowing you access to all enclosures
- A reserved table in the beautiful Attraction Restaurant
- Canapés on arrival
- A summer-themed 3-course lunch
- Afternoon Tea
- Racecard and tipping talk
This year Ladies’ Day is on Wednesday 15th August, for more information visit Beverley’s website.
New for 2017, and a first for a Northern racecourse, the acclaimed celebrity chef Colin McGurran created a duo of signature dishes to be enjoyed by race day diners at Beverley Racecourse. Diners enjoyed a taste of the mouth-watering menu from Michelin-recommended Winteringham Fields while enjoying a great day out at one of Yorkshire’s leading leisure venues.
The two signature dishes were served in the Attraction Restaurant throughout the season, crafted by Colin and prepared by our chefs, initially under his supervision and ultimately on their own. Diners had the choice of roasted rump of lamb, confit belly, new season pea salad, red chicory & romesco sauce, or slow braised beef cap, lovage pomme Purée, roasted shallots, bone marrow & bordelaise sauce.
The second element was a full kitchen takeover on the Season Closer, bringing Colin’s famous 7 course tasting menu to the Attraction Restaurant, preceded by a luxury gin reception courtesy of our friends at Sloemotion. The menu, which was kept a secret until the day, was crafted to perfectly complement an afternoon at the races, with light, invigorating courses including a beetroot mousse with chicken liver parfait, pan-roasted gild head bream & a 78% chocolate delice with praline mousse & mint ice-cream.
Beverley beat off all the competition and impressed the judges to win the Food and Beverage Award at the RCA Showcase awards as well as Best New Catering Concept award at the National Racecourse Catering Awards. Keep your eyes peeled for news of the collaboration in 2018 via our news page.
Conferencing & raceday conferencing
From the elegant Attraction Restaurant to the picturesque Paddock Bar with its views down to Beverley town centre, the racecourse has a range of stylish, well-appointed suites available that can cater for events from 10 – 200 people (larger events can be hosted in a marquee in the centre of the course.)
If you want something slightly out of the norm, the newly refurbished Terrace Bar is a great option, its warm and plush environs accommodating up to 200 and featuring reclaimed carousel horses mounted high on the walls. This area also boasts a new and smart dining option in the form of Spread-a-Plate which offers something very different to the traditional conference buffet. Here you can feast on a variety of delicious tapas platter options served on beautiful wooden boards; sure to provide a talking point whilst you are taking a break from business.
Our experienced team will be unobtrusively on-hand throughout the day to make sure you have everything you need. So good is the conferencing at Beverley Racecourse they’ve been nominated in the Business Tourism category at the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards 2018, an awards set-up and run by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire

With the Summer racing yet to begin at Beverley Racecourse something mysterious is taking place Saturday 24th March
It’s Ladies’ day and rank outsider ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’ has just won the main race at 100-1. Owner Charity Black is celebrating with trainer Davy Trent and Jockey Niall Masterson.
Charity’s PA Beryl is on hand to cater for her every need whilst reporter Charley Allen is still searching for the inside scoop. And the scoop? Doping? Race fixing? Add to that, the body of Charity’s husband and joint owner of ‘Diamonds’ and it’s no ordinary day at the races….
The evening includes a three-course meal with entertainment provided by Murder by Invitation. Book your tickets online here.
On hand through-out any of your events is our experienced Event Manager Danny, who was featured in the November issue of Just Beverley Magazine. Get to know him and his role more by reading page 29 of the publication on the Just Beverley Website.
