About The Utilita Arena, Newcastle
The Utilita Arena, Newcastle is located in the vibrant city centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Unique to the North East, it is an established world class venue.
The Utilita Arena, is officially ranked 8th as one of the UK’s busiest venues by Pollstar Magazine and is the largest concert and exhibition venue in the North East of England.
The 11,000+ seater purpose built Utilita Arena was the brainchild of former Animals star, the late Chas Chandler and his partner in Park Arena Nigel Stanger. It opened in November 1995 with basketball, and then its first concert… the legendary, David Bowie took place on Thursday 7th December.Since its opening, the Utilita Arena quickly established itself as a superb venue and major North East landmark, alongside the Tyne Bridge, Angel of the North and Hadrian’s Wall. It has already played host to millions of visitors to concerts, exhibitions, conferences and world class sporting events.
Some of the biggest names in the entertainment world have paraded their talents there featuring the likes of Oasis, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Kylie, Elton John, Coldplay, Beyonce, Rihanna, Take That, Kasabian, Andre Rieu, Michael Buble, Peter Kay, Cirque Du Soleil and the internationally acclaimed Les Miserables to name just a few.
The 40,000 square feet of exhibition and conference space is the largest under one roof in the North East and has hosted many prestigious events, including the BT AGM and the Northern Rock Building Society.
Corporate suite hospitality
Suite holders are able to select a menu to suit their guests and the event. Having recently undergone a menu refresh an example of what you can enjoy is the ‘South of the Border Menu’ giving hospitality guests a taste of tex-mex style fayre including tasty things like: Pulled beef chilli, tacos, Guacamole, sour cream, sweetcorn salsa with nachos and cheese, chicken and sweet pepper enchiladas and mushroom and vegetable chilli. Or guests would prefer the ‘Shades of the Med Menu’ offering stuffed baby peppers, cream cheese pitta bread, houmous, lamb kofta – spiced minced lamb, minted yoghurt, chicken & chorizo skewers with sweet peppers & red onion, amongst some delicious vibrant salads and sides.
Private Members Lounges
The Utilita Arena offers two private members lounges, The Utilita Lounge for up to 80 guests and the Hospitality Live Lounge which has a capacity of 120 guests.
Access to the lounges are available on an annual basis as well one off packages which include the Laurent Perrier Experience, ideal for small groups.
The Laurent-Perrier Experience includes access into a member’s only lounge and prime tier tickets. Here you are able to enjoy a glass of Laurent-Perrier in the comfort and privacy of a members lounge with a delicious deli style platter.The Utilita Arena work flexibly to suit their audiences adapting hospitality packages to reflect the individuality of each event.

Bars in the main foyer areas offer a range of drinks to enjoy pre-show and during the interval. Snacks and confectionery are available including pizza, chips and burgers.
Conferencing and Events
Dinners and award ceremonies are always memorable events and the Utilita Arena is an exceptionally unique venue delivering a bespoke experience.Offering a unique setting to wow guests by dining in the same room global superstars have played!
Present on the same stage that has seen the likes of Take That and the late George Michael entertain the crowds. The auditorium transforms into an extraordinary banqueting space, accommodating up to as much as 1,500 guests or as few as 500. The open plan space with purpose built stage is ideal for parties, dinners and award ceremonies. The arena offers menus to meet your preferences and dietary requirements, from canapés, delegate catering and family favourites to gourmet dinners and banquets, they can create a personalised catering experience. They also make wine and champagne recommendations to complement your menu choice.
