Catterick Racecourse

Catterick Racecourse is a charming blend of old and new, racing at Catterick Bridge began as early as the mid-17th Century, and the first recorded meeting took place on April 22nd 1783, but it was not until 1813 that a permanent course was created. Catterick is one of the busiest racecourses in North Yorkshire, with racing all year round!

Development Work

Following its closure in March 2019 and £600,000 investment as part of a larger development programme, Catterick is set to re-open on Monday 17th June. Racegoers can expect to see a newly enlarged parade ring which also includes the winner’s enclosure, as well as updated weighing room and new horsebox park.

This will see the end of phase two of a three-stage development scheme at Catterick, following on from phase one which included a new entrance and saddling boxes. Phase three will complete the £3.5 million development and will see the course build a brand new two-storey Owner and Trainers facility.

Join them for the first meeting back, and why not book into The Winning Streak Restaurant and enjoy the views of the brand new parade ring and winning post?
