Yorkshire Chef Stephanie Moon teams up with CGC & The Sun Pavilion for Harrogate International Festivals

This July guests dined under the stars on one very long table, surrounded by the Victorian beauty of the Valley Gardens under the Sun Pavilion’s colonnade. Local Yorkshire Chef Stephanie Moon teamed up with Harrogate International Festivals and our exclusive venue The Sun Pavilion, Harrogate to present a culinary experience never seen before.

The menu was inspired by Yorkshire’s bountiful produce and the stunning garden surroundings of the Valley Gardens . Stephanie was joined by a team of chefs who served a menu that delighted ticket holders from beautiful Art Deco venue, The Sun Pavilion.

Harrogate International Festivals caught up with Stephanie Moon before the event to hear what she had planned…

Experience the Long Table under the Victorian beauty of the Valley Gardens colonnade, with food from one of Yorkshire’s most acclaimed chefs, Stephanie Moon. Could it be the dining experience of the year?
“That’s a real challenge!” Stephanie laughs, “it’s going to be a really unique, interesting, innovative different dining experience. Dining experience of the year? We’re going to try our best to make it that!”

It’s likely, even if you go along with friends, that one person will be sat next to someone they don’t know.
“It’s almost like a supper club, an invitation to come along and try a really unusual experience, to interact, meet new people and have a bit of fun.”

The daughter of a farmer, Stephanie is passionate about local produce.
“It’s up to us to support the local farmers and embrace the produce, because in Yorkshire we’re blessed with some of the finest produce in Great Britain. The whole menu is centred on Yorkshire produce, and has been designed by myself and Peter Higginson a Chef for CGC Event Caterers, The Sun Pavilion’s dedicated caterers. It’s fresh, interesting, fun and I think the food will really excite diners – we want to give them something to talk about. So if you are sat next to a stranger, you can certainly have a conversation about the food!”

It promises a magical night.
“Under nature’s canopy on the colonnade with the vine leaves above with that stunning view, you’ll be served great food, drinking wine, relax, and the evening will unfold. The whole spectacle of it! It’s going to look incredible.”
